As usual there are rules:

Rules: Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link. Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you’ve newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

I am going to do a late linkup to Friday Follow and find me some wonderful new blogs. That being said, I also reconnected with a few blogs that I fell in love with awhile and ago and for whatever reason (I'm blaming mommybrain) I haven't visited in awhile!

Without further ado:

Friday

Absent again! Gosh, I am horrible about disappearing during the work week!! It's over and so is my battle with the laundry, well almost. I began the battle at 7am and just now have the last load in the dryer. UGH! I wish I could tell the children we didn't need to wash everything everytime they wear something - but it's ALWAYS dirty: dinner, crayon, lunch, mud, there is something. It's so frustrating.

How old do kiddos need to be before they can do their own laundry?!?!

Then it was to the kid's bathroom - thanks to Soft Scrub Total it was relatively easy. Thank goodness. When do little boys learn to pee IN the toilet, not next to it?!? It was nasty!

Little girl is home all day and she had a great time playing with her new hair bows from Flowerz in Her Hair. This review is coming soon.

Speaking of Soft Scrub Total - Giveaway winner announced tonight...stay tuned!

Happy Friday Friends!

New Awards

Thank you to my fellow bloggers for the TWO awards that I received at the tail end of last week! Thank you! Thank you! Now, you will see some doubles- that's because I'm seeing double...so tired, it's been a long day...

Now to the awards -

First the Bogie Award:

Photobucket

A big thank you to Adrienne...she has this awesome blog, 2 Kids and a Cat - if you haven't been to see her - you need too. Her blog is honest and makes me laugh out loud. That always makes my kids and husband interested in what I'm reading. So - if you like honesty and hilarity all rolled into one - Adrienne's blog is a must see!

So it comes with some contingencies -

~ Link back to the blogger who gave the award (check)
~ Post where I would like to be in 10 yrs (check)
~ Pass it along to 10 fellow bloggers (here it goes...)

Where would I like to be in 10 years - let's see - my eldest would be 16 today - SCARRRRYYYY!!!! I would like to just be raising my family. I'll have a house full of teenagers at that point. Hopefully - we will be college ready (ie savings account stocked, house paid off)....just enjoying life and getting ready to be empty nesters....

Beautiful Blogger Award

Thank you to Nicole My Real Review. Her blog is another must see! She has great giveaways, tips on being green, and living frugally. She has a "theme" of the month - this month was saving money by going green. Come soon (like March), her theme is Gardening 101- I need to tell her I need an at home tutorial - so, she should just come over. Haha! So go ahead - take a minute and visit Nicole.

This one also has stipulations - this time -

~ Thank the person who gave you the award and link to their blog.
~ Copy the award and paste it on your blog
~ List 7 interesting things about me.
~ Nominate either 7 or 15 people for this award (while Nicole when with 15 - I'm going with 7 just because, I have both awards)....

Me - interesting, hmmmmm.

1. Hmm - like Nicole, I played Rugby (she played in HS, I played in college)
2. I was born in Canada, my Mom was born and raised in Ireland, my Dad was born and raised in England, my brother was born in Ireland, and my sister was born here in the States. I heart St. Patrick's Day. We moved here when I was little.
3. I cried when I got my mini-van (a lot). But it has grown on me (a little)
4. I used to sell water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, air cleaners, and more. When I got promoted I worked with the sales reps who sold natural gas. Now I'm a nurse - doesn't that make sense?
5. When I was in 4th grade the music teacher told me my arms were too short to play the flute. I was determined and I played the flute for 4 years in HS.
6. I hate flying - really hate flying - it freaks me out!!! I don't know why, I've flown a lot in my life, maybe that's why.
7. I am also scared to death of heights, hate em, hate em, hate em. I used to love roller coaster now I'm too freaked out by the height. I keep my eyes closed for the WHOLE ride. My husband laughs at me....

The award goes to.....

Getting To Know You Sunday!

A big Thank You to Keely at Mann Land 5 for hosting this link up...SO FUN!

The questions..

1. How often do you wash/change your sheets?
2. When is your birthday?
3. Have you ever met a bloggy friend in real life?
4. Brad Pitt or George Clooney?
5. If you could change one thing about your body what would it be?
6. How often do you wash your hair?
7. Do you have pets?
8. How many social networks do you belong to..if you had to give up one, what would it be?

1. My sheets - well, I wash them every week @ least! Sometimes twice. Don't ask about my kids (well the baby you could, but not the older two - I can't believe I'm even saying that - shudder, guess I'll be washing the kids sheets today since I've been shamed into it) LOL!

2. 7/6/77 - can you believe my mom was induced?!?!?! Really Mom? My birthday could have been 7/7/77

3. Yes, well, a Wedding Channel friend many years ago! So fun! We had a blast that weekend.

4. Neither! Ick! I know I'm weird, but Brad is a cheater and doesn't shower very much. And George - well, he has a LOT of ladies!

5. The fat...does that count!? Can I somehow have all the fat suctioned off - especially the c-section belly....

6. Daily! So bad for my hair.

7. Not including my hubbie and kids - yes, 3 furry animals. 2 cats my husband and I got when we were dating (Fredo and Chief - they are both 14 now) and Zeke, our dog, he is 3.

8. Too many - definitely myspace. It might already be gone if they cancel for inactivity!

Thanks again Keely - I love getting to know you Sundays!

February 20th

I love that day...on 2/20/04. My phone rang - it was someone asking me if I thought it was a nice day for a drive (it was actually - it was sunny and in the 60's). I had no idea what Mike (our adoption agent) was talking to me about - then it dawned on me. Our birthmother was overdue by a week. It must be time. Thank goodness I had put the carseat back in the car (for the 5th time - thought I was jinxing myself).

I made it from our house to my husband's office in less than 20 minutes. That includes getting our bag, getting gas, and calling some folks (like everyone!). On a normal day the office was 20 minutes. When I got there and called to say I was downstairs, I was grounded from driving the 2 hour drive. I still contest that we would have been there for our son's delivery if I had been allowed to drive.

At 4:44pm, I am sure while I was glaring at my husband for driving the speed limit, our little man was born. We arrived at the hospital at 5:21. They were expecting us, we went and saw our birthmother and thanked her. Then we met him. He was gorgeous from his bald head to his cute toes. Perfection. Neither of us could hold him enough, we fought over given him his bottles, changing his diapers (that didn't last very long!).

If our son ever questions himself and his role in our family. I will tell him the truth. He was the most planned of any our children (not that we didn't want the others - we just weren't expecting them...at all). He IS THE ONE - the one that made me into: Mama, Mom, Mommy...priceless memeories and "moments" in my life are because of him.

Happy 6th bday little man - I hope it was a good one.

It was a fun day - breakfast alone with Daddy @ IHOP. We picked up his best friend. The 3 of us suffered thru, I mean, watched Toothfairy. Then we picked up the rest, and off to dinner at Red Robin. Home for homemade Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Cake and presents, including Strawberry Fanta. That is definitely a special treat - we don't drink soda in our house (ok our kids don't drink soda).

Can anyone explain why Strawberry Fanta EXPLODED all over my kitchen btw?!? I mean no prisoners: floor, windows, tile, sink, knife block, tea kettle - you name it - it was sticky and strawberry coated. The boys thought that it was very funny ( I wasn't laughing).

I'll chaulk that up to another memory I'll treasure....

Recipe - Crockpot Pork Tenderloin

Hello my little blog! I've missed you!

I don't know about you, but Hormel Pork Tenderloins were on sale last week at my Target. In addition, I had the Hormel $1 off coupon. So, I got two - we heart pork.
I've been wanting to post this recipe since dinner on Sunday night. I went to work, so I never had a chance to post this. This is what I made for dinner.

Pork Tenderloin
1 can cream of mushroom soup
3 Tblsp Cooking Sherry
Herbs de Province
Ground Mustard
Salt and Pepper

I only had a few hours to make dinner - so I hauled out the 'ole crockpot - flipped it on high. In a separate bowl - I mixed the can of soup and the cooking sherry. In the crockpot I seasoned the pork. I just sprinkled with a little of each of the spices ( I added a little too much salt). I let it cook for 4 1/2 hours - it was falling apart the seasoning was amazing!

Husband called this one a keeper.

Sunday Getting to Know You.....

A big Thank You to Keely at Mann Land 5 for hosting this link up...SO FUN!

The questions..

1. Favorite Valentine's candy? I like all candy - but I really like Chocolate
2. Pink or red? Red
3. Will you be doing anything to celebrate today? No, not really. I work tonight. I made the hubbie brownies last night.
4. Do you put up Valentine's decorations? Nope
5. What does Valentine's Day mean to you? Not really a lot - my parent's wedding anniversary is the day before...
6. Would you rather get..flowers, candy, or a night out? It used to be flowers, not I would love a night out.
7. Sexy lingerie or nothing.at.all? Tonight, I'll be sporting the scrubs - I don't know if the girls at work would like either of those options ;)
8. Do you say Valentine's Day or Valentime's Day? Who says Valentime's - I have to say I say ValentiNe's Day

Love is....

being married for 40 years ( not me you silly geese!)

My parents and my hubbie's parents both have been married 40 years this year. Crazier than that - my parents anniversary was the 13th and his parents anniversary was the 7th.

His parents are one of those love at first sight types - they met and got married all within 4 months. Now here they are - 2 kids; 6 grandkids later. Still in love....

My parents took it a little slower, I mean a lot slower. They met and were married 4 years later. Now married as of yesterday 40 years - 3 countries, 3 kids, and 6 grandkids later. They lived their life as the ultimate adventure. They left everything and moved to Canada, moved to the States, and finally moved to Oklahoma (of all places!).

Both of our parents had their first children within a year of each other - they both waited 5-6 years and had us. Six years later, my hubbie's parents had a miscarriage - the year that my sister was born.

Irony....

Photobucket

But back to love. We have both grown up with parents that have been married for years - our siblings (older) - same thing - my brother got married young - I was 16. Hubbie's sister married the year we met.

I have to throw our story in - I now believe in fate and love at first sight. We met at college debate camp - yes, I was a college debater (hahaha!). We both travelled in highschool on our debate teams. We could have met several times - I'm sure we walked by each other at tournaments we both attended in Chicago or Dallas. Perhaps even at Nationals....but never met.

Until the first day of college debate camp (96) - I was 19 and he was 20. I knew at the end of that two weeks, I was head over heals in love. I even called my mom and asked her how she knew Dad was "the one". She told me to get on the plane the next day and come home. I came home to flowers.....

A few weeks later I drove to Memphis to see my boyfriend - and met his entire family. A few weeks later he drove down to see me at college - slept in a campground. I didn't have much time to hang out - his visit was in the middle of rush. I transferred schools at the end of that semester to his college: became one of his two debate partners.

His proposal was less than romantic. It was the 3rd quarter of the Knicks Pacers game in June '00. I was crying, I had thought that would be the weekend that he would propose. We had just graduated college. We were going to close on our first house the next week. He did but just not the way that I thought he would. Probably not the way he had envisioned either. I've never asked.

And here we are 8 years (married, 14 years together) later with 3 kids.

Life is good. Happy Valentine's Day!

"Next" Kiddo Model Search...

I know we all have the cutest kids EVER!!!!! Here is your chance to show the world how cute your peanut is and potentially win a free trip to Universal - the frosting on this cake, add a nice chunk of change to your child's college fund!

If you have ever been to Britain and shopped - you have heard of Next. It is AWESOME, speaking from personal experience! I looked in my closet and I have to say the clothes hold up pretty well. I still have some! I will also say this brand is very reasonably priced. Anywhoo - they are launching in the United States! YIPPEEE!!!! I'm so excited I've been to the website Next Direct several times to check out what I will be able to buy effective February 18th (American Launch Date).

Not only does Next sell clothes for women, but the have the whole family covered (talk about the one stop shop) - your husband (boyfriend) and your children (not to mention furniture and homewares!).

This leads me to the modeling competition - it is for 4-7 year olds. You can submit your darling's photo on the Next Facebook page. You can begin your submissions at 7am EST on February 18th. The voting will be public - so make sure you tell Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles, siblings, co-workers, friends, and those really nice strangers in the grocery store line to vote for your peanut....

WHY??!! Well, listen to this - Next in conjunction with Wilhelmina Models will select 50 finalists who will go to Universal Studios on April 24th (sounds like a great time for a get away!).

IF YOUR peanut wins - your child will then be the face of Next Direct and most importantly (in my opinion) will win $100,000 in college scholarship money (won't that come in handy in a few years - think of the interest that sucker will accrue over the years...).

GOOD LUCK!!!!! I'm off to go find some cute pictures of the kids.....

The opinions regarding Next store were my own - I did receive compensation for the promotion of the modeling contest

Soft Scrub Total My New Favorite Thing - with Giveaway!!!!

Softscrub_total_logo
softscrub_total

This cleaner is amazing! With one bottle, I can successfully and thoroughly clean every single thing in my bathroom - counters, sinks, tub, facets, toilet and even the mirror. I love it. When you have kids at home and you are trying to clean a bathroom, as you mommies know - we have to be efficient. Peace one minute, war the next.

I am a connoisseur of cleaning products. I love anything new and great - especially if it smells good. Let me tell you, this stuff not only cleans with one wipe (hardly any scrubbing - just the crusted toothpaste) - but it smells fantastic.

It has the coolest features which allow you to clean your whole bathroom with one product - it allows you to switch between foam and spray. So, you can eliminate two products right there.

Softscrub_total_spray
foamspray_icons

Another feature that is really cool - to allow you to clean your toilet it allows you to turn that bottle right upside down, so you can spray all the nooks and crannies in the toilet. Throw away that bowl cleaner.

Softscrub_total_upside_down

Now, I'll be honest, I used to insist on using a bowl cleaner with bleach - but Soft Scrub Total did an awesome job cleaning the bowl, that I didn't feel that I was missing bleach (my husband was floored). I have to say it was nice not to have the smell of bleach in the bathroom burning my nostrils. I also think that my kids probably appreciated it too not to mention the dog who loves to drink out of the bowl.

Soft Scrub Total even cleaned my mirrors with no streaking! I've never had another bathroom cleaner that could clean everything and the mirror.

I have used Soft Scrub Total for several weeks now and I am finding it difficult to part with this coupon for a free full-size bottle. I would love to keep it for myself and try the kitchen cleaner. But instead, I will share the love.

So - do I have a cool gift for you - I have a coupon so you can try your own full size bottle of Soft Scrub Total FREE - yeah, FREE!

WIN A SOFT SCRUB TOTAL BATH OR KITCHEN

To Enter Mandatory:
1. Leave one comment here about how Soft Scrub Total Can Help You (1 entry - mandatory)

Additional Entries
1. Become a Follower of Misadventures Of Mom Of 3 via Google Friend ( 1 entry)

TGIF!

Man - I'm glad to say TGIF!

Note to self - link up (very) late to the FF!

My blog has been stale this week. I haven't really visited nor has anyone else.

The poop hit the fan though - literally -

The septic tank went bonkers (again) - it did this once before (keep in mind we have only been in the house for 10 months). Lucky for us - the city sewer is ready - so we are in the bid war right now. FUN FUN! I know your are jealous.

The baby is slowly, very slowly getting better. Thank goodness!

Aaaaahhhhhhhhh - but the food around here has been great (if I do say so myself).

Homemade spaghetti sauce - YUM!!! Well - semihomemade - if I have to be honest.

That was 2 nights of pure delicious.

Wednesday, I made this dinner that was called Sooner Stew (husband didn't like that name - he renamed it) - that was great and super easy to make if you need a quick hearty dinner.

Last night it was Pork Chop with a brown gravy with onions and apples. I served it with mashed potatoes.

Tonight - homemade hamburgers with lettuce & tomato. The kids had mac and cheese - we (I) had salad.

WOW - what a great good eats week....
