The Coupon Game

OK this coupon game is amazing! I read all these blogs with these marvelous women that have tons of coupons - they pay next to nothing when they go to the store. I'm not that person yet. I have made a decision to become a serious coupon clipping mom!

Ok, I use coupons (some) if I have one or if my mom gets me one that I need. But I don't have a BINDER with coupons.

I saw this mom and daughter coupon team yesterday at Target. She had a binder, she was organized, she was on a mission. I had to make sure when I got in the line to pay that we were nowhere near her. I would have been embarrassed for her to see how little money I saved (part of that was from bringing my own bags).

So, I need a plan - how does one acquire all of these coupons? We don't get the paper. So, I get the red plum or whatever that mail thing is. I need to get a printer cartridge to print these fabulous online coupons.

HELP ME COUPON SAVVY MOMMIES! WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?!?!??!?! I want to be you! I want a binder full of coupons.....

you need to get the paper and there are lots of coupons online too :) I couldnt tell you the sites though i dont remember. Ill let someone else jump in. The usnday paper is good a good bit of savings though. Also you should bring ads form other grocery stores to price match....and if other stores are having like 5$ off 50$ or somehting, they will match that too (walmart matches, othert gorcers do too, just ask) I save 10 or so each week in coumpns but thats it im not manic with it

also where do you live? i know of ONE good site that will actually save you loads if you print out coupons. But if you in FL GA or somewhere in the south (maybe other sotuhern states too, im not sure.) southsavers.com
Id imagine there are lots of sites like that. I go there someitmes to shop. They will list the deals for the week, like buy one get one with a combined coupon (printable) and sometimes even stackable with another coupon) Many things are 20 cents! Im talking a box of cereal, a case of juice boxes or something. Its pretty cool. You just have to find the right sight. Spend some time googling. And print out those coupons every week.

Christina, thank you! Wonderful. I live in OK, so I will have to go to southernsavers.com and see if it works here!

I will! I talked to hubbie last night and he agreed to the paper (we had it before it never got read). I told him I wanted a binder! A coupon binder and he laughed at me, but said ok.

Follow It's Hip 2 Save-- she posts about a ton of online coupons- really good ones and there are lots of blogs that list what you can get for free or cheap at walgreen's, walmart and grocery stores!!

I tried the clip method with a binder-- but it's a ton of work!!!

I am going to start again with the file method- you just save the inserts marking them with the date -- then when see a blog post about a great deal...do back and clip just the coupons that you need...I haven't tried it yet-- still feeling the effects of coupon overload.

Good Luck- nice to check out another blogger from OK!

I am also pretty new to coupon using! We don't get the paper so I just buy a Sunday paper on the way to or from church. Some ladies buy more then 1 newspaper, I only buy 1. I will have to do a post on how I organize my coupons - I simply use an index card holder! It won't hold a LOT but it's worked so far. I've only been saving coupons for about 2 months now but am getting the hang of CVS & Walgreens shopping! Coupons definitely give me an excuse to go shopping, I don't spend hardly anything so hubby can NOT get mad! lol

Call your local newspaper. Ours has a deal where you get 5 copies of the paper on Sundays. This is the best way to acquire so many coupons! THen just organize them in a binder with trading card protectors (you can find them in the trading card section at Wal Mart). When I am good about staying on top of coupons, I can save a lot!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today :)

Hi! I am by no means an expert when it comes to couponing and usually end up in line at the store with a measly 3 or 4 clipped coupons that don't amount to much. I am constantly amazed when I see women share their stories of spending like only $50 on a $200 grocery bill! Here are a few tips I though I'd share:

1. Follow Jodi over at http://neverpayretailagain.blogspot.com/ (she's also on Twitter & Facebook and you can subscribe to her daily newsletter)..she truly finds ALL the deals and even dishes out couponing advice on her site.

2. There are a TON of coupons to be found online, there's pretty much a coupon to be had for most stores/web sites/brands. One site to always check for printable coupons before heading out is http://printable-coupons.blogspot.com/2005/10/retail-coupons.html. Two other biggies are www.couponalbum.com & www.couponcabin.com. All 3 have coupons for both on line and in-store. There are MANY more sites!

3. Check out the Krazy Coupon Lady's site! Here's a link to her page where she describes some couponing basics http://thekrazycouponlady.com/kcl101. Here site has it all, ESPECIALLY grocery coupons, and she outlines step by step on how it's done!

Hope that helps. I'm in the same boat, where I really want to start saving some serious $$ but often feel overwhelmed on what it takes to do that. Guess I should take my own advice and start utilizing some of the above sites I mentioned on a regular basis!

I'm just starting out on the coupon journey. I started by buying 100 coupons on EBAY for 1.75. About 75% of them I could use so it was worth it for me. I also visit www.couponmom.com (just blogged about it). She has tips and videos to help you master frugalness. She suggest things I never would have thought of. Good luck with your saving!!

www.coupons.com and www.eversave.com
These are two sites I use for coupons. I also have a daycare mom that works at a hospital and she collects all the coupons from the papers at the lunch table.
My mother-in-law gives me her coupons after she's taken what she needs (we don't eat the same things), my best friend gets the Sunday paper and either clips coupons for me or gives me what's left when she's done. It just all works. If you can't get a paper, some else gets it and I'm sure will share. Just ask. It is so much fun going shopping, spending $30.00, save $30.00 and come home with tons of groceries.
Good luck and God Bless!
